MottoCompound

Description

MottoCompound is a powdery substance, containing inorganic elements and perlite, which transforms into a highly effective thermal insulation and fireproofing compound when combined with water.

This mixture is utilized to create seals that inhibit the passage of fire and smoke through openings in fire-resistant walls and floors, safeguarding building penetrations.

  • Appropriate for use with cables, cable racks, cable trays, as well as steel, copper, alupex, composite, plastic pipes, and air ventilation ducts.
  • Demonstrates a strong mechanical resilience; the seal can bear loads without requiring reinforcement.
  • Subjected to air permeability tests, displaying remarkable resistance to pressure.
  • Completely solidifies within one hour.
  • Preserves the acoustic design functionality in both walls and floors.
Applications

MottoCompound undergoes a hydraulic reaction during the curing process, expanding by about 1%, ensuring a snug seal around service penetrations and adjacent openings. Once cured, the MottoCompound solidifies into a dry, off-white compound with a density of around 1050kg/m3, allowing for sanding or drilling as needed.

This versatile MottoCompound is compatible with various surfaces, including concrete, brick, Leca, steel, and plastic, but it's not suitable for dynamic fittings like doors or moving service openings. Most building substrates do not require priming prior to application, although metal surfaces in contact with the seal should be protected against corrosion.
